INTERPRT is comprised of a group of researchers, architects and spatial designers dedicated to environmental justice advocacy, who believe open-source geospatial data can empower civil society groups to leverage powerful environmental evidence against ecocide. They undertake long-term investigations on behalf of diverse groups as well as self-initiated research projects for which they produce advocacy videos, interactive maps and evidence files. They present their work in exhibitions, online platforms, writing for publications, and workshops. Studio INTERPRT is based at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Which energy sources will ensure a viable future, and for whom will
that future be viable? This visual investigation by the environmental justice
project INTERPRT utilises drone footage, open-source code and research-backed
predictions to model the potential impacts of a plan to mine minerals from the
floor of the Pacific Ocean. This image shows how they traced the potential
consequences of sediment plumes – clouds of living and non-living matter that
are dredged up in the mining process and drift with thermal currents into
protected areas.
